چکیده

Combination cancer therapy (e.g., radiochemotherapy) is widely used to enhance the therapeutic effects and prevent recurrence of cancer. However, side monotherapy are also amplified when treating with combination therapy. A locally activated drug delivery strategy that can release payload in a tumor-selective manner greatly needed overcome Here, we explore potential combining boron neutron capture chemotherapy as new type radiochemotherapy. Two-dimensional (2D) boron-10-rich nanosheets (BNNSs) were fabricated dual-functional system: targeted boron-10 systems for (BNCT) vehicles load doxorubicin chemotherapy. Irradiated by low-energy thermal neutron, BNNSs produce high linear energy transfer (LET) particles kill tumor cells, loaded be released situ at same time. This neutron-triggered radiochemotherapy shows noteworthy efficacy suppressing growth triple-negative breast To best our knowledge, this first report combine BNCT We hope study could inspire additional BNCT-induced therapies provide insight further clinical translation BNCT.

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy

A project aimed at the development of an accelerator facility devoted to Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is ongoing at the National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina [1]. In a first stage of development, the accelerator will be capable of delivering proton or deuteron beams of 30 mA at about 1.4 MeV which is suitable for neutron production through the 9Be(d,n) reaction. In this context...

Nanostructured Boron Nitride With High Water Dispersibility For Boron Neutron Capture Therapy

Highly water dispersible boron based compounds are innovative and advanced materials which can be used in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy for cancer treatment (BNCT). Present study deals with the synthesis of highly water dispersible nanostructured Boron Nitride (BN). Unique and relatively low temperature synthesis route is the soul of present study. The morphological examinations (Scanning/trans...

A Monte Carlo study of SPECT in boron neutron capture therapy for a heterogeneous human phantom

Background: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a binary radiotherapy combining biochemical targeting with neutron irradiation. However, monitoring the boron distribution is a fundamental problem in BNCT. Prompt gamma rays emitted by boron capture reaction can be used to address the issue. Materials and Methods: The general-purpose Monte Carlo toolkits Geant4 and MCNP were used for the simu...

Dosimetry Impact of Boron and Its Carriers Structure at Boron Neutron Capture Therapy of a Brain Tumor; A Sim- ulation Study

Introduction: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a method of cancer treatment and potentially, two borono-L-phenylalanine (BPA) and sodium borocaptate (BSH) are used in BNCT as common boron carriers. Some previous studies have shown that the dose rate is directly related to boron concentration in the tissue. This study aimed to simulate the structure of boron carriers and brain tumor compo...
